I would love to have the Meisen-lovers out there post images of the antique kimono they have found and the fantastic pieces they have paired with their kimono!

I would love to show images of both how these kimono were traditionally worn, and new ensembles that take some of their fantastic colors and bright patterns and pair them in ways that they would have NEVER been worn originally~ Strut your stuff, ladies and gentlemen!

Also, if you have kimono that you don't know what to do with -- share, get advice, show comparisons, ask for and recieve feedback! Smile

Here is a new kimono I recently got, and I'm dying to vamp it up... I just don't know what to wear with it! It's actually a rich midnight purple and silver, the picture doesn't do it justice, and the lining is magenta! Yikes, but awesome.

Here is one meisen kitsuke combination I made last october and just found a photo for. What do you think?
It's a very old unlined black and cream stripe with a very old obi - peony pattern in cream on silk satin magenta.
It's probably the brightest kimono kitsuke I've ever worn, and I got many stares and compliments. ^__^

I think it's too bright for me!

Here's mine, with Taisho-origin pieces for the kimono, the obi and the haori:

I love the combination of the red plaid and the almost-magenta haori. And the length looks so iki! I love those super-long antique haori.

An amazing find and a really fun combination! I hope you have a chance to upload images of you when you wear this!

Thank you so much for sharing! <3
